Johnnie Franklin Prince, 73, of Jackson passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 8, 1937, son of Roy and Marie McNew Prince. He and Dorothy Clasby were married in 1956. She preceded him in death in 1978. He and Nancy Sides Morton were married July 9, 1991. She survives.
He was employed 12 years by Sperling Garage and Wrecker Service in Cape Girardeau and retired in 1998. He enjoyed his hobby as a tractor mechanic.
He is also survived by two daughters, Sarena (Keith) Wright of Arnold, Mo., Glenda Harris of Pevely, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Singleton of Fruitland, Beverly (Jeff) Pulliam of Jackson; two brothers, Bob (Sheila) Prince of Crystal City, Mo., Jerry Prince of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Eva Foster and Barbara Chambliss of Jackson, Ethel (James) Jackson of Kennett, Mo.; seven grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Brenda Gerber; a stepson, Kim Clasby; a sister; and a brother.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. with the Rev. Kevin Swain officiating.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
