DEXTER -- John William Carrier, 91, died Saturday, April 20, 1996, at the Dexter Nursing Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1905, at Advance, to William and Lucy Jane Edwards Carrier. He and Bessie Smith were married March 12, 1931. She died Aug. 5, 1984.
Carrier was a retired farmer and lived in Aquilla until 1990 when he moved to Dexter. He was a member of the Mount Pisgah General Baptist Church in Aquilla.
Survivors include five sons, Carl Carrier of Bloomfield, Elva Carrier of Campbell, Ohio, Charles Carrier of Dexter, Paul Carrier of Kentwood, Mich., and John Carrier of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Norma Lane of Flint, Mich. and Ruth Ham of Florissant; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
Friends my call from 6-8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
