JOHN W. LEWIS

ADVANCE -- Funeral service for John W. Lewis of Chesterfield will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Fred Ritter will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 tonight, with Masonic rites at 7:30.

Lewis, 74, died Monday, Sept. 23, 1991, at St. Luke Hospital in Chesterfield.

He was born July 26, 1917, in Advance, son of L.H. and Lily Stevens Lewis. He and Evalee Bess were married July 23, 1938, in Cape Girardeau. She died Oct. 20, 1985.

Lewis was a retired farmer, member of Duck Creek Church near Puxico, and Bloomfield Masonic Lodge 153 AF&AM.

Survivors include two brothers, Jim Lewis of Sacramento, Calif., Lou Lewis of Fulton; two sisters, Mildred Jones of St. Louis, and Mary Hall of Pocatello, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
