CHARLESTON -- John William Harris, 82, of Charleston, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born April 20, 1913, near Bertrand, son of Estel and Florence Haley Harris. He and Mildred Stubblefield were married Nov. 2, 1940. She died Jan. 28, 1994.
Harris was a self-employed paint contractor.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Love of Charleston; a brother, Junior Harris of Charleston; two sisters, Frances Evans of Bertrand, Nina Heppe of Charleston, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Penn officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
