JOHN T. BROWN

VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- John T. Brown, 78, of Villa Ridge and formerly of Cairo died Sunday, May 31, 1992, at his home.

He was born March 15, 1914, at Cairo, the son of John T. Brown Sr. and Kate Candee Brown. He married Cora Clifford, who survives of the home.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City and a member of the Cairo Elks Lodge. He owned and operated the Brown Insurance Agency in Cairo for 40 years, and also was a real estate broker.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ruth Clifford, a niece, Brenda Barryhill, and a nephew, Steve Clifford, all of Villa Ridge.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, where parish prayers will be said at 7 p.m.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, with Fr. William McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Mounds.
