John David Stueve, 55, of Jackson died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 11, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of Raymond and Mary Walker Stueve.
John was a 1971 graduate of Jackson High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Jan. 9, 1973, and was honorably discharged Dec. 18, 1975.
John was a bartender at Lloyd's Place in Jackson a number of years. He was a member of Jackson Elks Lodge and Altenthal Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.
Loving survivors include a sister, Diane (Charlie) Wendel of Jackson; a nephew, Jeff (Nicole) Wendel of Sedgewickville, Mo., and a niece, Shari Murphy of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. An Elks service will be held at 6:30.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery near Pocahontas with full military honors.
