MARBLE HILL -- John M. Stovall, 79, of Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 27, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 30, 1917, at Fredericktown, son of John Louis and Etta Mae Myers Stovall.

Stovall had been a timber worker. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, received two Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include a son, John Stovall of Seminole, Fla.; two daughters, Donna Hinkley and Martha Lewis of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Nora Gunterman of Sellersburg, Ind.; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Hutchings Funeral Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Frank Shanks officiating. Burial will be in Marble Hill Cemetery.
