John Edward Stephens, 69, of Scott City died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at his home.

He was born June 1, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of John and Flora Tune Stephens.

Stephens was a construction worker, and member of Church of God Fellowship in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include six sons, John L., Randy and Joey Stephens of Scott City, Terry Stephens of Chaffee, Mo., Tony and John Edward Stephens of Aurora, Ill.; three daughters, Sandy McBride of Chaffee, Sue Webb of Scott City, Michelle Stephens of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Billy Stephens of Stillwater, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.

There is no visitation.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God Fellowship. The Rev. Tom Morris will officiate.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
