DONGOLA, Ill. -- John W. Spurlock, 92, of Dongola died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
He was born Aug. 24, 1914, in Anna, son of George W. and Cordilia F. Sadler Spurlock. He and Mable Williams were married May 5, 1934, in Cairo, Ill.
Spurlock was a laborer several years, and a member of Laborers Local 1330.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Johnny and Mark Spurlock of Dongola, Frank Spurlock of Decatur, Ill.; two daughters, Betty Post and Rita Hancock of Jonesboro, Ill.; a sister, Lorene Morgan of Jonesboro; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Carl Land and Jeff Bond officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
