John Edward Siebert, 79, of Tilsit passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

He was born July 31, 1938, in Tilsit, the son of Edwin and Dina Fluegge Siebert. He and Nelda Zoellner were married in November 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.

John was a life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit, where he was baptized Sept. 4, 1938, and confirmed April 6, 1952. He served in the Army National Guard. John enjoyed the outdoors where he farmed the family farm near Tilsit. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Loving survivors include his wife of 47 years; a son, Gary (Nicole) Siebert of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Kelsi, Coby and Kory Siebert of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Kenneth (Elda) Siebert, and a sister, Betty Siebert, both of Tilsit.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday in Chapel B at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Boettcher officiating. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tilsit.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Cemetery Fund of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit.
