WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- John Alfred Reynolds, 92, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021. He was born June 24, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to the late Henry and Mary Donnelly Reynolds. John exuded joy in so many aspects of his life, disarming others with his wit and humor, leaving others smiling or laughing outright. He was very proud of his Catholic faith and his Irish heritage. John was a great baseball player and avidly followed the family team, the St. Louis Cardinals, throughout his entire life...

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- John Alfred Reynolds, 92, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.

He was born June 24, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to the late Henry and Mary Donnelly Reynolds.

John exuded joy in so many aspects of his life, disarming others with his wit and humor, leaving others smiling or laughing outright. He was very proud of his Catholic faith and his Irish heritage. John was a great baseball player and avidly followed the family team, the St. Louis Cardinals, throughout his entire life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Colleen Lee Reynolds; eight brothers, Henry, Thomas, Francis, Matthew, Richard, William, Paul and Patrick; and sister, Mary.

John is survived by five children, David (Mary) Reynolds, Kathleen (Victor) Fiala, Michael (Stefano) Reynolds, Robert (Mary Karen) Reynolds and John (Katie) Reynolds; 12 grandchildren, Katie, Matt, Mila, Remi, Joey, Sam, Lily, Jake, Nick, Bret, Abby and Patrick; and four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Jamie, Rhys and Johnny.

A funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Christopher Gober officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
