JACKSON -- John W. Reitman, 81, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1916, at Burfordville, son of Herman L. and Lula Summers Reitman. He and Ruby Mae Francis were married Aug. 31, 1940.
Reitman moved to Jackson in 1961 from a farm near Burfordville. He worked at the former Pevely Dairy, Robinson Lumber Co. in Cape Girardeau, was an independent freight worker and retired from Missouri Pacific Freight Lines in 1972.
He was a member of Scopus Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Reddick of Jackson; a sister, Madonna Fellows of Millersville; and a foster brother, Dean Galloway of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, and two infant sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kelly and Kenny Francis officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
