EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- John Albert "Jack" Pool, 93, of Florissant, Mo., formerly of East Prairie, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Delmar Gardens North Nursing Center.
He was born April 12, 1913, in Mississippi County, Mo., son of William and Josie Gardner Pool. He and Mary Jane Banks were married Sept. 12, 1936, in East Prairie.
Pool farmed in Mississippi County until moving to St. Louis in 1944, where he was a truck driver and paint shop foreman with Gus T. Henge Co. He moved back to East Prairie in 1978, and then to Florissant in 2000. He was a member of Community Christ Fellowship Church of God in Hazelwood, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Peggy Riley of Sun City Center, Fla.; two sons, Gene Pool of Town and Country, Mo., John "Curt" Pool of Florissant; a brother, Paul Poole of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Frankie Washburn of Caruthersville, Mo.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
