PATTON -- John Paul Dunbar, 79, of Patton, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Aug. 19, 1918, at Pittsburgh, son of Edward Lawrence and Matilda Benson Dunbar.
He married Josephine Bidgood on Aug. 17, 1955. She survives.
He was a retired cartographer for the Air Force, attended Patton United Methodist Church, belonged to the Patton Lions Club and the Patton Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by three sons, John Paul Dunbar Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., William L. Dunbar of Hampton, Va., Richard A. Dunbar of Yuma, Ariz.; a daughter, Ann Scott Dunbar of Towsend, Md., and two grandchildren. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Liley Funeral Home in Patton. No visitation will be held. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
