MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- John Chester Nanney, 86, of Marble Hill died Sunday, April 28, 2002.

He was born May 14, 1915, near Scopus, Mo., son of William A. and Alice J. Nations Nanney. He married Geraldine Eastwood, who preceded him in death. He and Irene M. Ede were married Nov. 14, 1989.

Nanney was a retired truck driver. He attended Point Pleasant General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Fred, Tony and Tim Nanney, all of Marble Hill, Mike Nanney of Holts Summit, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Snider of Leopold; five brothers, Lee, Melvin, Alfred and Bobby Nanney, all of Marble Hill, Cecil Nanney of Advance, Mo.; five sisters, Stella Carmen of Manchester, Louise Smith of Imperial, Mo., Nancy Dockins, Thelma Nanney and Velma Cook, all of Marble Hill; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Randy Poole and Loyd Ray Green officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Scopus.
