ADVANCE -- John Newton Parks, 94, of Advance, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1994, at Advance Nursing Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1900, in Pontotoc, Miss., son of Tom and Ida Parks. He and Ruth Cooper were married Nov. 13, 1921.
Formerly of Vanduser, Parks was a member of the Church of God there.
Survivors include three daughters, Opal Loomis of Cashion, Ariz., Lorine Griffin of Bloomfield, Nadine Partain of Advance; a sister, Quedell of Tennessee; 14 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and two granddaughters.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Virgil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley.
