John Muir
John Wayne Muir, 57, of Gardner, Kan., passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1951, in Spokane, Wash. He was married to Kathy Muir.
Muir was involved in many activities throughout the Kansas City, Mo., area, including the Traffic Ministry at Church of the Resurrection and Christmas in October with Sprint. He was also supervisor of fan information with the Kansas City Chiefs. He leaves behind many beloved friends who shared deeply in his life.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Ryan and Austin Garvey of Gardner; parents, Duane and Melba Clark of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Tom (Karen) Muir of Cape Girardeau; mother and father-in-law, Pat and Mike Pfauth of Freeland, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Karen King and Krista (Mike) Thurlow of Freeland; four nieces, Laura, Emily and Jessie Muir of Cape Girardeau and Lindsey Thurlow of Freeland; and a nephew, David Thurlow of Freeland.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Clark.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Wesley Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, Kan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ryan and Austin Garvey Educational Fund, in care of Kathy Muir at Capitol Federal Savings, Olathe, Kan.
