John Edward Mosier, 71, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Scott City, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Nexus Specialty Hospital in Shenandoah, Texas. He was born July 31, 1942, in East Prairie, Mo., to John Edgar and Thelma Lois Dean Mosier. He and Donna Faye Busby were married July 28, 1966. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2001. John Edward Mosier, 71, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Scott City, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Nexus Specialty Hospital in Shenandoah, Texas.

He was born July 31, 1942, in East Prairie, Mo., to John Edgar and Thelma Lois Dean Mosier. He and Donna Faye Busby were married July 28, 1966. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2001. He later married Freida LaVonne Busby Watson on May 12, 2007.

John was a truck driver/mechanic. He was a member of Gospel Assembly in Anna, Ill., and Teamsters union Local 574 in Cape Girardeau.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam.

John loved the Lord and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Freida of Paducah; four sons, Johnny (Jennifer) Mosier of Scott City, Tony (Pam) Cagle of Cape Girardeau, Grant (Beth) Cagle of Tracy, Calif., and Warren (Julie) Cagle of Benton, Mo.; a daughter, Tonya McFall of Jackson; a stepson, Samuel (Jennifer) Watson of Paducah; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ira Lee "Buddy" Mosier.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Gaylen Holden and Denny Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau with full military honors.
