John Leston Meisenheimer, 83, of Jackson passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Cape Girardeau to Albert and Beulah Williams Meisenheimer. He and Tresa Meisenheimer were married Nov. 13, 1999, at Assembly of God Church in Scott City.
Early in his career, John worked for Roth Clothing store. After the store closed, he went to work at Scott City Best Way. He was a staple at the store and continued to work through four owners and two locations. He was the go-to man for deliveries to Luehr Brothers Barge Co. He retired for two weeks before he started at Casey's in Fruitland. John continued to work until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He was loved by many and touched the lives of too many to count.
John was a member of Scott City First Family and Youth Worship Center.
Survivors include his wife; son, Ronnie (Chrissy) Meisenheimer; two daughters, Teresa Ellis and Rosa Taylor; daughter-in-law, Aloma George; 13 grandchildren, Crystal Musgrave, Jeremy (Amy) Skelton, Shane George, Brittney (Chris) Hibdon, Johnnie (Mariah) Ellis, Sammie Ellis, Kalie (Brian) Armor, Haley and Ava Meisenheimer, Stacey, Loralee, Karlie and Natalie Taylor; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Johnnie Ellis; stepson, Stacey George; brothers, Robert and Louis Meisenheimer; and sister, Ruth Haag.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 18, at Scott City First Family and Youth Worship Center.
Memorial service will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 18, at the church, with the Rev. Larry Rouse officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Scott City First Family and Youth Worship Center.
