CHARLESTON -- John Glynn Malone, 85, of Charleston died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 16, 1914, at Diehlstadt, son of James N. and Elba L. English Malone. He and Lucille Seyer were married June 3, 1948.
Malone lived in Charleston most of his life. He was owner and manager of Wides Oil Co. 28 years, Kerr McGee Service Station three years, and was a bus driver with Charleston School District 10 years.
He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and VFW Post 4294. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Malone of DuQuoin, Ill.; two daughters, Glenda Finley of Nashville, Tenn., LuAnn Reno of East Prairie; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Brown officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
