Funeral Mass for John William Kimball of Cape Girardeau will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.

Friends may call at the church from 4:30 to service time.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Kimball, 61, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at his home.

He was born May 25, 1935, in New York City, son of John D. and Sophie Meyer Kimball. He married Carol Ann Baden Jan. 14, 1956, in New York City.

Kimball was a foreman with Carpenters Local 902 in Brooklyn, and worked for Walsh Construction Co. from 1971-94. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1995 from Brooklyn. He was a member of St. Vincent's Church, Grateful Friends of Bill W., and Knights of Columbus Council 405 of Brooklyn.

He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Thomas C. Frazier during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Kimball of Cape Girardeau, John Kimball of Fort Bragg, N.C.; five daughters, Susan George of Blauvelt, N.Y., Kathleen Murray of Waterford, Minn., Carol Gargano of Maplewood, N.J., Margaret Bolan of Brooklyn, Nancie Aita of Woodbridge, N.J.; his mother of South Egremont, Mass.; five brothers, William Kimball of Anchorage, Alaska, George Kimball of Furlong, Pa., Edward Kimball of Key Largo, Fla., Robert Kimball of Queens, N.Y., Ronald Kimball of South Egremont; a sister, Carol Totino of Brooklyn; and 16 grandchildren.
