JACKSON -- John "J.G." Haupt, 64, of Jackson died Monday, April 10, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 16, 1930, to John O. and Lela Hopkins Haupt in Oak Ridge.
Haupt married Marie M. Evans May 22, 1949, in Jackson. She survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Lee E. Haupt of Cape Girardeau and John C. "Chuck" and David J. Haupt of Jackson; a daughter, Linda L. Lowes of Sikeston, and five grandchildren.
Haupt was a farmer all his life, a substitute mail carrier for 17 years and was employed by Procter and Gamble for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, the Jackson Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Girardeau County Soil and Water Conservation District, serving as president for many years.
Haupt was honored once by the Jackson Jaycees as an Outstanding Farmer of the Year.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau Wednesday after 1 p.m.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
