CHARLESTON -- John Jake Warren, 77, Charleston Route 3, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1993, at his home.
He was born Sept. 22, 1916, in Thayer, son of Jake and Dora Young Warren. He and Minnie Slaten were married Sept. 26, 1946.
Warren was a retired merchant, and attended the United Methodist Church in Wyatt. He was a paratrooper with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two brothers, William Warren of St. Charles, James Warren of Mammoth Springs, Ark.; six sisters, Sybal Andreasen, Joan Brown, Annie Brown and Eva Powell of Thayer, Bristo Mayo of Hamilton, Mont., and Dorothy Templin of Onamia, Minn.
He was preceded in death by two half brothers and a half sister.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Harold Norton will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
