John August Hudak, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Masontown, West Virginia, son of John and Eleanor DeProspero Hudak Jr. John was the executive director of Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau for the last 23 years and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He graduated with a Master of Divinity from St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore and a Master of Science in Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh...

John August Hudak, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at his home.

He was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Masontown, West Virginia, son of John and Eleanor DeProspero Hudak Jr.

John was the executive director of Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau for the last 23 years and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He graduated with a Master of Divinity from St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore and a Master of Science in Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Survivors include his sons, Jason (Terri) Hudak of Barboursville, West Virginia, and Jonathan (Lindsey) Hudak of Red Bud, Illinois; brother, Robert Hudak of Gallipolis, Ohio; and sister, Veronica Hudak of Atlanta.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

During his time in Cape Girardeau, John made many friends and touched many lives. It was his expressed wish he remain with the community he cared for so deeply. Interment will be at Christ Episcopal Church in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Community Counseling Center Foundation of Cape Girardeau in John's memory.

A private family service was held Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, and a public celebration of life service will be held this summer on a date to be determined. His family is eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to express its thanks to the community John knew and loved so well.
