John William Hoffman, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, June 5, 2020, at Chateau Girardeau.
He was born June 28, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to William B. and Cora Clements Hoffman.
John was a 1947 graduate of College High. He farmed the family farm his entire life.
He served two years in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He was very proud of his military service and would tell anyone who would listen about his service.
Loving survivors include a sister, Clara Hoffman of Newark, California; nieces, Gale Turner of Ellington, Missouri, and Janet Norris of Fremont, Missouri; great-niece and -nephews, Lisa (Johnny) Beardsley of Ellington, John Wesley (Gloria) Adier of West Plains, Missouri, and Roy Turner of Ellington; great-great-nieces and -nephews, Alyssa and Sara Beardsley and Felina, Ryan, Clinton, Clayton, Heaven and Gloriella Adier; and great-great-great-nephew, Asher Beardsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Emma Lee Norris; brother-in-law, Ernest Norris; and nephew-in-law, Larry Turner.
Private visitation will be held for family at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A graveside service, with full military honors and patriot guard escort, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
