John Gray Seay Sr., 79, of Cape Girthe Federal Aviation Administration. He was a flight service station specialist for 36 years. He had been a Powder Puff Derby Weather briefer and was a past commander of VFW Post 3838. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He also was a regional president for the group. He was an active officer in the Cape Girardeau Senior Center and was a volunteer for United Way. He has served on the Silver Hair Legislature for six years.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Jane Freymuth of Troy and Mindy Elizabeth Hamlett of Egypt Mills; a son, John G. Seay Jr. of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Gallamore officiating.
