PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- John W. Gibbar, 81, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Perryville, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Mineral Area Hospital in Farmington.
He was born May 2, 1928, in Perry County, Mo., son of Joseph and Margaret M. Nations Gibbar.
Mr. Gibbar was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Joseph F. (Wanda) Gibbar of Tucson, Ariz., Leo E. (Ruth) Gibbar of Homeland, Calif., Thomas Eugene (Margaret) Gibbar of Melbourne, Fla.; four sisters, Bernice Huber of Perryville, Ollie M. Schumer of French Village, Mo., Margie O. (Jim) Shaughnessy of St. Louis, Virginia (Robert) Brewer of Festus, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifford; a sister, Lorene Candela; and two brothers-in-law, Alfred Schumer and Henry Schremp.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of service Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorials are preferred for family use.
