John Ford, 72, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1943, to John and Hazel Ford in Cape Girardeau.
John's life experiences and stories could fill a book, and anyone who knew him would agree that to sum up his life in a short paragraph or two would be nearly impossible. Let it suffice to say he was a kind and generous man, who always saw the potential in everyone and everything. He made an impact on many people's lives, and his loss will be deeply felt.
Survivors include a son, Nathan (Stephanie) Ford of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Liam and Lyla Ford of Cape Girardeau; three nieces, Dawn (Gary) Ton of Memphis, Tennessee, Kathy (Kevin) Van de Ven of Maryville, Missouri, and Debby Erlbacher of Fort Collins, Colorado. John also is survived by a longtime close friend, Marcy Arbogast of Cape Girardeau; her children, Margaret Turner and Lisa Jones; her grandchildren, Amber, Emily, Alexis, Preston and Madisyn; and her great-grandchildren, Rylee and Ty.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and John Ford Sr.; a sister, Francine Seier; and a daughter, Michelle.
