JACKSON -- Funeral service for John Michael Filer of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Revs. Mark Anderson and David Butler officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Filer, 37, died from a heart attack Thursday, Feb. 6, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was currently employed at Crown Cadillac-Olds-Nissan in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Jo Combs; a son, Joseph Filer of the home; three daughters, Katharine, Allison and Rebecca Filer of the home; his parents of Jackson; three sisters, Linda Lucero of Denver, Colo., Judy McCullough of Columbia, Carol Reddick of Cape Girardeau; maternal grandparents, Lee and Geneva Hansen of Jackson; and paternal grandmother, Stella Filer of Jefferson City.
