John David Perry passed peacefully from this earth, surrounded by his loved ones, Thursday, Nov. 30 , 2023, at SSM STL University Hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1975, in Cape Girardeau to Cindy Watson and John Perry Sr.

John David, like his dad, had the gift of working with his hands. He was hardworking and could build it, fix it or make it work. He loved the outdoors, cooking, barbecues and fishing. Most often he could be found doing these things without a shirt on (IYKYK). He was a goofy and fun-loving guy and will be terribly missed by his family and friends. Though John David is finally at peace, he leaves behind his mom, Cindy, and stepdad, Bruce Watson; his dad, John, and stepmom, Dee Perry; children, Madison and Gavin; sisters, Laurie (Rob) Ray, Brooke (Galen Yeargain) Watson; brother Drew (Tara Miller) Perry; so many aunts, uncles, cousins; and his nieces and nephews, Fletcher, Chase, Cash, Kate and Ashlynn.

Gone before him are grandmothers Nanny "Gladys" Gounce, Lucille Perry and his brother, Wyatt Perry.

John David's family is grateful to the medical team that cared for him while at SFMC.

A deep gratitude is especially held for the kind and compassionate care he and his family received at SSM STL University Hospital during this tragic time. Their care and loving kindness will not be forgotten.

Though John David's life on earth has passed and his family grieves, they are grateful that his gift of life through organ donation will forever change the lives of other families who will rejoice. Thank you to the Mid-America Transplant team who were gracious and kind in their care of the family and John David.

A time of gathering for friends and family will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4 at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 1001 North Mount Auburn Road.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to benefit his children, Madison and Gavin. Information will be available at the gathering time on Monday or through a GoFundMe account, "John David Perry's children Madison & Gavin".
