Col. John H. Cochran Jr., 75, of Hollister, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1996, at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson. He was born July 23, 1920, at Gideon, son of Dr. John and Ruby Cochran. Cochran served 32 years in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. Col. John H. Cochran Jr., 75, of Hollister, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1996, at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson.

He was born July 23, 1920, at Gideon, son of Dr. John and Ruby Cochran.

Cochran served 32 years in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. He retired in 1972 and was inducted into the Infantry Hall of Fame in Fort Benning, Ga.

He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church and Masonic Lodge in Branson, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Jo; a daughter, Candace Sullinger of Branson; a son, John Cochran of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dr. Jo Cochran of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Whelchel Funeral Home in Branson from 1-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, with the Rev. William J. Fasel officiating. Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, with graveside rites by Branson Masonic Lodge. Full military honors will be under the direction of the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood.
