OLMSTED, Ill. -- John Owen Clark Sr., 77, of Olmsted passed away at 9:52 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

John was born Jan. 23, 1939, in Karnak, Illinois, son of the late Ollie Glenn Clark and Sarah Martha Kean Clark.

John was a retired ironworker with Local Union No. 782 of Paducah, and was a farmer. He was a member of Crusaders for Christ Church in Mounds, Illinois, and recently was ordained as a minister. John was a Mason with the original Masonic Lodge in Grand Chain, Illinois. He was a Sunday-school teacher and attended Smiles One Center in Mounds. He was a member of the West Kentucky Gospel Music Association; member of the New Harmony Gospel Singing Group; and a member of the Union County Saddle Club of Anna, Illinois.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sue Lentz; a brother, Charles Clark; and a great-grandson, Christopher Austin Bagby.

Survivors include his wife, Judith A. Sloan Clark of Olmsted; three sons, John Owen (Sondra) Clark Jr. of Paducah, Charles Wayne (Jerri) Clark and Samuel Scott (Kelly) Clark, all of Olmsted; a daughter, Martha Sue (Ronnie) Everly of Olmsted; a half brother, Harvey Glenn Clark of Paducah; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Illinois, where Masonic Rites will be at 8 p.m. with the Masonic Lodge No. 150 AF/AM of Vienna, Illinois.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Belknap Masonic Cemetery in Belknap, Illinois.
