ANNA, Ill. -- John Carlton Busenhart, 78, of Anna died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at Union County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Fayette County, son of William and Flora Smith Busenhart. He and Lucille Dillow were married on Oct. 13, 1941, at Cape Girardeau.
Busenhart was a teacher and school administrator in Homer and Mount Pleasant for more than 35 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cobden.
During World War II, he was in charge of the bomb section of the ammunition depot at Laulaulin Oahu, Hawaii, for three years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Batten of Jamaica Beach, Texas; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and son.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Ryman will officiate, with private burial in the Vandalia Cemetery.
