John Allen Buehler, 86, of Oak Ridge passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 11, 1936, in Glen Allen, Missouri, son of Lee and Alma Fisher Buehler. John married Judith Ann Felty on Dec. 5, 1959, at Fairview Methodist near Millersville.
After graduating from Lutesville (Missouri) High School in 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged. He worked as a petroleum salesman for 30 years for Jackson CO-OP Service Center in Jackson. John was a school bus driver for Jackson School District, and later operated a concrete mix truck.
John enjoyed his family and being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, attending auctions and sitting on his front porch watching deer, birds and turkeys.
Loving survivors include his wife of 63 years; three children, Carla (Bill) Crow of Argyle, Texas, Curt (Noy) Buehler of Jackson and Craig (Sarah) Buehler of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren, Asha (Sean) Gremillion, Trevor, Marissa, Beau, Luke and Cashel Buehler; and brother, Howard Buehler of Memphis, Tennessee.
John was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Eric Crow; sister, Carolyn Doyle; and brother, Edward Buehler.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, Dec. 29, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin and Bryan Wendling officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Methodist Cemetery near Millersville.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Fairview Methodist Cemetery.
