John "Buddy Bethel, 63, of Scott City died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Scott City. He was born Sept. 25, 1940, at Wardell, Mo., son of John and Pearl Muse Bethel. He and Phyllis Gale Finney were married March 31, 1987, in Nappanee, Ind. Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott Bethel of Edwardsburg, Mich.; a daughter, Julie Bethel of Goshen, Ind.; a brother, Jerry Bethel of Milford, Ind.; three sisters, Christine Lozier of Nappanee, Chestine Allison of Fisk, Mo., Delores Elliot of Beloit, Ill.; a granddaughter; and a great-grandchild.. ...

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a sister.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. Monday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Tribble officiating.
