DEXTER -- Graveside service for John Herbert Acord of Poplar Bluff will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hagy Cemetery. The Rev. Don Slatton will officiate.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 1-2 p.m.
Acord, 59, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Jan. 11, 1940, in Stoddard County, son of Herbert Franklin and Edith May Price Acord.
Acord was a painter in construction work. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include two sons, John Acord of St. John, Mark Acord of Freeburg, Ill.; three daughters, Rhonda Thorne of Rockwood, Ill., Cynthia Kinsey of Jackson, Kelly Rea of Maryland Heights; a brother, Kenneth Acord of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Pat White of Bowling Green, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.
