John Anthony Hulshof Sr., 54, of Independence, died Sunday, May 22, 1994, at Menorah Medical Center.
He was a native of Portageville.
Hulshof had owned Vonhul Construction Co. 25 years. He also worked for Vendo Co. 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He attended Visitation Catholic Church, was member of Knights of Columbus, and was past president of both the Kansas City Chapter of Mid-Continent Small Business United and the Independence Optimist Club. He also served on St. Mary's High School Board of Education at Independence.
Survivors include three sons, John Hulshof Jr. of Independence, Kenneth Hulshof of Smithville, David Hulshof of Overland Park; a brother, Gerard Hulshof of Kansas City; four sisters, Dorothy Borchelt of Cedarburg, Wis., Barbara Trankler of O'Fallon, Rita Kuss and Alice Johnson of Cape Girardeau, and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Speaks Midtown Chapel in Independence from 7-8:30 p.m. today. The rosary will be at 8.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Independence. Burial will be in St. Mary's section of Woodlawn Cemetery.
