Joe William Howard, 81, of Harvester, Mo., died Thursday, May 27, 1993, at St. Charles Health Care Center.
He was born Nov. 21, 1911, at Gravel Hill, Mo., son of Leo Howard and Lottie Ates Howard.
He married the former Carmon Gray on June 7, 1933. she survives.
Also surviving is a sister, Sarah Jean Adams, of Portageville; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
Howard worked for the former Bowman Milling Co., and moved to St. Louis in 1953. For the past 40 years he owned and operated Joe W. Howard Insurance Agency in St. Louis.
He traveled throughout the U.S., as a professional wrestling referee. He was a member of a Wood River, Ill. non-demoninational church.
Service will be today at 2 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Bob Camp officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
