BENTON, Mo. -- Joe Stuckey, 68, of Benton died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, in Benton.
He was born April 26, 1946, in Cape Girardeau to Clarence Stewart and Viola Riggs Stuckey. He married Ann Elizabeth Scherer on May 29, 1971.
Joe was an agent for Shelter Insurance. He was active in Benton city government 36 years, serving the last 24 years as mayor. He was a member of Benton Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; a son, Sean (Suky) Stuckey of Columbia, Missouri; a daughter, Michelle Stuckey of St. Louis; a grandson, Alex Stuckey; three brothers, Jim Stuckey of Texas, John Stuckey of Holts Summit, Missouri, and Paul Stuckey of Benton; and a sister, Shay Pack of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
