MILLERSVILLE, Mo. -- Joe Dayton Sander, 75, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1924, at Stroder Branch, between Burfordville and Scopus, Mo. He and Lillian E. MILLERSVILLE, Mo. -- Joe Dayton Sander, 75, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 1, 1924, at Stroder Branch, between Burfordville and Scopus, Mo. He and Lillian E. Abbott were married Feb. 19, 1945.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Millersville; five sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Jerry and Marylee Sander, Gary and Carolyn Sander, the Rev. Steven and Sharon Sander, all of Millersville, the Rev. Terry and Sharon Sander of Marble Hill, Mo., Randy and Cheryl Sander of Marquand, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Corkey Morgan and Janice and Ron White, all of Marble Hill.

Two brothers, the Rev. Donald Sander and Doyle Sander of Millersville; six sisters, Myrtle Criddle of Burfordville, Helen Jones of St. Louis, Mabel Hutson of Apache Junction, Ariz., Isadore Ackman of St. Charles, Mo., Imogene Slinkard of Old Hickory, Tenn., Melba Smith of Cape Girardeau; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse J. and Desdia E. Stroder Sander; a brother, and two sisters.

Mr. Sander attended Haynes Chapel and Barks Chapel Churches. He farmed his home place for many years, and also owned and operated Joe Dayton Sander Plumbing and Heating.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson Friday, Sept. 1, between 4-8 p.m.

Funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 2, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment in Haynes Chapel Cemetery near Millersville. The Revs. George Mills and Curtis Allen will officiate.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society.
