JOE RAY

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Joe E. Ray of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Larry Smith will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ray, 64, died Monday, Sept. 22, 1997, near Clinton, Ky.

He was born Oct. 1, 1932, at Dorena, son of Ed and Tress Sutton Ray. He and Shirley Bennett were married Nov. 9, 1956.

Ray was a retired farmer. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eddie Ray of East Prairie, Kelly Ray of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Bill and Merl Ray of East Prairie, Bobby and Charlie Ray of Columbus, Ky.; a sister, Gladys Love of Phoenix, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.
