JOE N. BLAND

ADVANCE -- Funeral service for Joe N. Bland of Advance will be at 2 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Billy Davis of the Advance Church of Christ will officiate and burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Bland died Thursday at the Advance Nursing Care Center. He was 93.

He was born Oct. 18, 1897 at Swinton, the son of the late Logan and Allie Bess Bland. On April 26, 1933, he married Pauline Habada in Jackson.

He worked for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department and was a member of the Advance Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Digiovanni of St. Louis; one foster daughter, Edna Gaines of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Harrison Bland of Asheville, N.C.; one sister, Mary Rogers of Emporia, Kan.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two foster grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may visit at the funeral home today prior to the funeral.
