Joe Littrell, 86, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Southern Illinois, died on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Joe Littrell, 86, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Southern Illinois, died on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1916, at Dalton, Mo., son of Selba and Margaret Teut Littrell.

He grew up on a farm in Chariton County, Mo., and attended the University of Missouri College of Agriculture.

He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a feed salesman for Wayne Feeds and was a grain dealer and farmer in Union County, Ill., until his retirement in 1983.

He was a member of the Cape Girardeau VFW Post and Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

He and Mary Wilson were married June 28, 1947, at Jackson.

Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; a son, Bill Littrell of Jonesboro, Ill.; a brother, Ralph Littrell; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
