JACKSON -- Joe Kurre Jr., 55, of Route 4, Jackson died at his home Friday, Jan. 22, 1993.
He was born Sept. 9, 1937, at Cape Girardeau, son of Joe Kurre Sr. and Linda Marie Pierce Kurre.
He married the former Florence Zoellner on March, 29, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1985.
He is survived by two sons, Joe T. Kurre III of Cape Girardeau and Brian Kurre of Route 4, Jackson; a sister, Shirley Rodin, of Portage, Ind.; and one grandson.
Kurre was a graduate of Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
He was a barber a number of years. He also drove a ready-mix truck for Jackson Ready Mix and McDonald Concrete in Cape Girardeau. He also drove a truck for Coca Cola Co., and Heuer Implement.
He owned and operated a farm west of Fruitland. He was a former Jackson R-2 School Board member, and bus driver.
He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.
Service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russel Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
