Joe Evans

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Joe H. Evans, 58, of Troy, Ill., died at his daughter's home in Olney, Ill., Sunday, March 21, 2004.

Evans was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Glen Mary, Ala. He married Alice W. Ashcraft March 20, 1954.

He was a sales representative for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kym Houchin of Olney, Ill.; a brother, Richard Evans of Sikeston, Mo.; five sisters, Lois Young of Jenks, Okla., Mary Robbins of Maben, Miss., Betty Willis of Friendsville, Ind., Billie Stacey of Millstadt, Ill., Elsie Stace of Cahokia, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Home in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at the funeral chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Fred Winters officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
