JACKSON -- Joseph S. "Joe" Dollinger, 75, of Jackson died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Jackson Manor.
He was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Fredericktown, son of Joseph Louis and Ethel Mae Frey Dollinger. He and Evelyn Roggasch were married March 23, 1943.
Dollinger retired from Boeing Airplane Co. in Seattle, Wash., where he worked almost 34 years. He was also a partner in AAA Diving Co.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, VFW Post in Fredericktown, and was a charter member of King County Sheriff's Diving Volunteers in Washington state.
Dollinger served in the U.S. Navy from February 1940 to June 1947, and was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. He also served during the Korean War. He retired from the Naval Reserve in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Darrell Dollinger; two sisters, Agnes Crowe and Frances Hutchings; and four granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
