SCOTT CITY -- Joe D. Skinner, 85, of Scott City, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1993, at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1907, in Trenton, Tenn., son of James and Leonard Morgan Skinner. He and Robbie Beatrice Smith were married Jan. 4, 1927, in Blytheville, Ark. She died May 29, 1992.
Skinner had farmed in Commerce, and he and his wife owned and operated Skinner's Grocery there. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church, RSVP, and Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Skinner of Scott City, Jack and Jim Skinner of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two daughters, Joyce Hamil and Jo Ann Lester of Scott City; 21 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. Pastor Bob Alarcon will officiate, with burial in Skinner family cemetery at Commerce.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
