GRASSY -- William Joseph "Joe Bill" Kirkpatrick, 94, of Grassy died Friday, May 5, 2000, at ElderCare of Marble Hill.
He was born June 30, 1906, at Grassy, son of Charles Monroe and Mary Eunice Hill Kirkpatrick. He and Zola Newell were married Feb. 7, 1927. She died Nov. 8, 1988.
Kirkpatrick had been a teacher and farmer and had owned and operated the first school bus transportation company in Bollinger County.
He was a member and deacon at Friendship General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Kirkpatrick of DeSoto, Dale Kirkpatrick of Page; a daughter, Gayle Sitze of East Alton, Ill.; a brother, Noah Kirkpatrick of Grassy; 13 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Cemetery.
