Joe Alsdorf, 67, of Friedheim went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 30, 2018. He was doing what he loved most, helping a family friend on his farm in Friedheim.

Joe was born May 2, 1950, in Newburgh, New York, to Joseph and Doris Terwilliger Alsdorf.

He was a football and wrestling star at Cornwall High School, where he still holds records. After graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he met the love of his life, Pat Schetter. They were married Oct. 9, 1971, in Chaffee, Missouri. They resided in Washington before returning to Missouri to raise their family in the small town of Chaffee.

Joe and Pat had two loving sons, Shaun and Jamie. Joe devoted his time to coaching his sons in baseball and caring for the baseball fields in Chaffee. He spent a lot of his free time with close friends, Bill Beck and Jerry Beck, at their body shop in Chaffee and was always working on a project.

Joe was well known for working at Procter & Gamble for more than 25 years. He retired and built a home in Friedheim with acreage, so he could work and manicure it. During his time at P&G, he traveled the world, making friends everywhere he worked. He met Peewee Moore while at P&G, and they were best buds together in retirement, as they both had similar hobbies and passions.

Joe was best known for always helping others whenever needed. He was the first to be called by many when help or advice was needed on a project. He enjoyed cutting trees, burning them and then replanting them. He was also known for his gardening skills as he nourished the soil, planted it and shared his harvest with family, friends and local shelters.
