MATTHEWS -- Jodie Chappell, 69, of Matthews, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 1996, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.
She was born Aug. 15, 1926, in East Prairie, daughter of Wyatt Jack and Vernice Raines Chappell.
Chappell moved to Matthews 21 years ago from East Prairie. She was a member of First Christian Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include two sisters, Betty Grimm and Margaret Hatley of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Jim Nichols and Ed Pangburn will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
